January 15, 2015 – A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) on Wednesday lost N200,000 he took to the campaign ground to armed thugs that besieged Skypower Playground, venue of the campaign.
The APC chieftain, our correspondent was reliably told was the Lagos State Spokesman of the party, Mr. Joe Igbokwe. Sources within the APC told our correspondent that the affected individual took the money to the venue with the intention of using it to settle thugs.
The thugs we were reliably told aided by charms, were able to see through his pocket and immediately pounced on him and snatched the money from him.
We gathered Igbokwe shared the money N100,000 each in the two pockets but lost the money. We were reliably told that one passerby was also stabbed outside the campaign venue while journalists and many other visitors lost their phones to thugs.
The police on ground were however able to recover one phone from one of the visitors who was able to notice when his phone disappeared in the crowd that completely knocked down the whole of GRA, Ikeja.
