December 11, 2014 – Mr. Paul Raymond Dokpesi has been appointed as Chairman of DAAR Communications Plc.
DAAR Communication owns Raypower, African Independent Television (AIT), Faaji Fm and DAAR Sat.
Chief Raymond Dokpesi stepped down last week as chairman of the organisaiton.
Chief Dokpesi who made the revelation in an interview with journalists in Lagos said his son, Paul has been appointed as chairman while he will operate from within as Chairman emeritus.
Chief Dokpesi performed his last assignment for the organisation during the 5th Annual General Meeting in Abuja. At that meeting, the board approved a bonus share of one share for every two shares held in the organisation.
Speaking at the occasion, Dokpesi said that despite the challenges experienced by the company within the 2012 financial period, the company was able to record a turnover of N4.2 billion as against the previous year figure of N5.1 billion.
He explained that the 2012 restated profit after tax was N2. 69 billion while profit after tax for the year 2012 was N0.273 billion.
