December 8, 2014 – There are indications that the new management of Daily Times Nigeria Plc is making frantic effort to return to the newsstand.
According to sources, the Newspaper will likely hit the news stand in the next one week and will run from Monday to Friday only. The weekend editions will not come out.
We gathered that former Editor of Compass Newspaper, Mr. Yinka Olujimi will be the editor of the newspaper.
The newspaper is returning for the second time since Mr. Fidelis Anosike took over ownership of the newspaper. The first crop of reporters had their fingers burnt. We gathered that some reporters that were employed before it made an exit from the newsstand were not paid till date.
Daily Times was a newspaper to beat in the early 90s until government involvement in the running of the newspaper brought it to its knees before it was sold during Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime to Anosike with all its assets for N500 million.
