November 10, 2014 – Not less than 47 students where today killed by suspected member of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
We gathered that the explosion occurred in an all-boys Government Senior Secondary School in Potiskum at about 7:30 AM when they were on the assembly ground waiting for their principal.
We gathered that the bomber disguised as one of the students and was able to penetrate the security to the assembly ground before detonating the explosive.
The Nigerian Police Force(NPF) has so far confirmed 47 dead and 79 others injured.
“There was an explosion detonated by a suicide bomber. We have 47 dead and 79 injured,” Spokesman for the Nigerian Police Force, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu said, adding that Boko Haram was believed to be responsible.An eye witnessed described the incident as bloodbath of horror.
We gathered that some of the affected victims who were injured in the thunderous blast have been evacuated to the Potiskum General Hospital for medical attention.
One rescue worker involved in evacuating the students from the school said the wounded had various degrees of injuries and that the victims are all children in their teens.
