The Super Falcons celebrating one of the goals

October 14, 2014 – The Super Falcons on Tuesday gave a good account of themselves when they walloped the Zambian female side 6 -0 in the ongoing African Women Championship 2014.

The victory at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Katutura, Windhoek, Namibia now qualifies the Falcons for the semi-final ticket.

The goal rain started in the third minutes when Ngozi Okobi put Nigeria ahead. Osinachi Ohale made it 2-0 while Desire Oparanozie made it 3 in the 25th minutes bringing the score line to 3-0 in the first half.

The second half was also impressive as the Zambians tried without success to score at least a goal. The other three goals were scored by Asisat Oshoala, Oparanozie and Perpetua Nkwocha in the second half.

The Zambians team also recorded another yellow card in the 39th minute when Grace Zulu tackled Oparanozie in a way the referee deemed to be too rough.
