One of 219 Kidnapped Chibok Girls Now Released – NPF

Kidnapped Chibok held by Boko Haram

September 25, 2014 – The Nigerian Police Force(NPF) has confirmed release of one of the remaining 219 girls that were kidnapped by the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

The girls were kidnapped April 14 from Borno State owned Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok.

Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu told journalists in Abuja that one of the girls was dropped off by the insurgents along Mubi Road in Borno State at about 5pm on Wednesday.

The news came just as Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade confirmed killing one of the commanders of Boko Haram who has been posing as Abubakar Shekau, adding that 135 sect members have also surrendered with their arms to the Nigerian military.
