July 24, 2014 – Speaker Nasarawa House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed today flew into Abuja, capital of Nigeria, where he held a closed door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan.
The speaker did not disclosed what was discussed at the meeting which held for several hours. All he said was that he was at the Presidential Villa for a private meeting with the President Jonathan.
The meeting is a very good one, I am not mandated to speak on it; it is a private visit. I said this is a private visit, I have come to see Mr. President on a private visit to come to us for development”, he said.
The speaker spoke just as the embattled Governor of Nasarawa Alhaji Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has appealed to his supporters in Lafia to remain calm and wait for the outcome of the probe.
He appealed to hundreds of supporters on solidarity match to be civil in their approach, stressing that he will ensure that all democratic and legal procedures enshrined in the Nigerian constitution are explored to protect his mandate.
