July 31, 2014 – The US-based Nigerian athlete, Blessing Okagbare on Thursday emerged winner of the 200 metres race at the ongoing Commonwealth games. She clocked 22.25 seconds to win the gold medal in the keenly contested race.
She will also feature in the 4×100 metres relay race.
Okagbare one of the best Nigerian athlete at the game also emerge winner of the gold medal in the 100 metres race on Wednesday.
It is hoped that she will propel Nigeria in the relay race to pick the gold medal. With the recent victory, Nigeria is now sixth on the medal table after picking eight gold medals at the games.
