Wealth Creation Bill Under Way to Tackle Joblessness – Adeniji-Adele

A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Sultan Adeniji-Adele has said plans are underway to sponsor Wealth Creation Bill as part of effort to tackle joblessness in the society.

Adeniji-Adele revealed this during the weekly Time Out With the Press programme put together by the Lagos State House of Assembly correspondents in Alausa, Ikeja.
“joblessness is everywhere; it is affecting us as a nation. The wealth creation bill, if allowed to scale through will address this problem.

The lawmaker who was reacting to youth restiveness in his constituency, Amuwo-Odofin I said, though the problem has reduced drastically with the level of development currently going on in the area, he however said youth who graduate to become miscreants would have to be engaged.

He believes the introduction of a bill aimed at empowering the youths would also assist in taking care some of the problems associated with unemployment.
He stated that there would be a commission that would be created through the bill. This commission according to Adeniji-Adele would work with government and private organizations to provide jobs for the graduates.

“There will be a commission which shall get jobs for graduates temporarily. It is going to be for registered residents of the state,” he said.

“The young graduates would take their CVs to the commission, which would help them find jobs in their areas of study. They might be employed and be receiving stipends until their jobs become permanent or they are able to get jobs somewhere else,” he said.

Meanwhile, Adele has urged the Federal Government to revisit the redevelopment of Festac town, adding that the chairman of Amuwo-Odofin, Ayodele Adewale has come to the rescue in addressing the infrastructural challenges in the area.

He added that ‘youth vanguard’ created by the Area Commander in Amuwo-Odofin was dissolved because the youth were becoming nuisance to the community, saying that things are meant to be done according to constitutional provisions.
