A statement signed by NFF’s Assistant Director of Communication, Mr. Ademola Olajire said that Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, a doctorate degree holder in sport administration who has been in administration of sport for decades, and a teacher, has been appointed as Integrity Officer, with Dr. Christian Emeruwa appointed Match-fixing Investigative Officer.
Sanusi, who is NFF’s Director of Competitions also delivered a paper titled ‘Tackling Match Fixing And Corruption In Football’ at the FIFA/Interpol Training, Education and Prevention Initiative: Integrity In Sport workshop which took place in Abidjan, capital of Cote d’Ivoire between 10th – 11th April, 2014.
He was the only African who delivered a paper at that workshop.
Emeruwa, also a doctorate degree holder in administration and organisation of sport, is the Special Assistant to the NFF General Secretary.
In a letter dated 16th April, 2014 and addressed to all members of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu stated: “Henceforth, all matters relating to match-fixing and corruption in football within the territory of Nigeria should be reported to the officers mentioned.
“Members are all advised to recognise, resist and report all match-fixing and related matters with concrete evidence to the officers.”
