The National Film and Video Censors Board has refuted media reports insinuating that it has banned the film, Half a Yellow Sun.
In a statement signed by Acting Head, Corporate Affairs, Mr. Ceasar Kagho, the board said it has not banned the film but only insisted that some aspect of the film which has unresolved issues be sorted out in line with laid down regulations.
“The management of the Board under Ms. Patricia Bala states that certain aspects of the film have some unresolved issues which have to be sorted out in accordance with the law and laid down regulations.
“The Board wishes to re – affirm its determination to continue to execute its mandate”, the statement said. See full statement below.
The attention of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), has been drawn to on – going misrepresentations, with respect to the status of the feature film, Half of a Yellow Sun.
2. We wish to categorically state that there is no truth in media reports that the Board has banned the film.
