Charred remains of human flesh and blood littered Nyanya bus park Monday morning when terrorists took advantage of security lapses in the early morning hours to detonate two bombs leaving at least 35 people dead.

The blast occurred at exactly 6:45AM in Nyanya Park, Abuja which is one of the most patronized parks in the Nigerian capital city, Abuja.

Confirming the incident, an official of the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA), Mr. Manzo Ezekiel said dozens of people were killed following the bomb blasts adding that the station is crowded with people on their way to work in Abuja when the explosions occurred.

“We have been able to bring some of the dead to the morgue and some injured have been taken to the hospital,” said Charles Otegbade, head of search and rescue at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

A cameraman attached to Reuters said he saw 20 bodies at the depot at Nyanya bridge, south of Abuja while two witnesses said another 15 victims have already been removed by emergency services.
