President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday appointed former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Honourable Justice Idris Lebo Kutigi as Chairman of the national dialogue. He also appointed former Foreign Affairs Ministers, Professor Bolaji Akinyemi as Vice Chairman while Dr. (Mrs.) Valerie Azinge, was appointed Secretary.
In a statement, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim said the three will resume work March 5 pending when the confab will take off.
“His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR), president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has approved the appointment of the Leadership of the National Conference as follows:
(i) Honourable Justice Idris Lebo Kutigi – Chairman
(ii) Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi – Vice Chairman
(iii) Dr. (Mrs.) Valerie Azinge – Secretary
“The appointees are to resume at Abuja on Wednesday, 5th March 2014, and would be received on arrival by the secretary to the government of the federation,” the statement said.
