Properties worth several millions of Naira were on Tuesday destroyed when fire gutted Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Lagos.
It is not clear what would have caused the fire, but sources say the fire occurred in the old building as workers prepare to move documents and other sensitive items from the old block in Broad Street into the new building.
We gathered that two story structure started burning late in the evening. Public Relations Officer National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye confirmed the incident but said men of the fire service were just approaching the building to put off the fire which has paralysed business in the area.
