In 1993, Norwood appeared in a supporting role on the short-lived ABC sitcom Theatre and signed with Atlantic Records.

A year later she released her self-titled debut album “I Wanna Be Down” and “Baby” which won the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart. In 1998, she did a widely successful duet with Monica in the track titled, ‘The Boy Is Mine’, and her second album, Never Say Never.

A multi-talented artiste, Norwood has also featured in a number of films including the UPN sitcom Moesha as the title character, which lasted six seasons and resulted in roles in the 1998 horror sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and the TV films Cinderella (1997) and Double Platinum (1999).

Norwood has become known for her distinctive sound and has since been signed to both Epic Records and RCA Records, where she has acquired a catalogue of hits with singles such as “What About Us?,” “Full Moon,” and “Put It Down” being her most successful. UB 40 when they were together
The group UB40 is a British reggae/pop band formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England. It has had more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Chart. The group has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album four times, and in 1984, were nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group. The group has sold over 70 million records.

Their hit singles include their debut “Food for Thought” and two U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number ones with “Red Red Wine” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. Both of these also topped the UK Singles Chart, as did the band’s version of “I Got You Babe”.

The team is originally made up of Jimmy Brown, Robin Campbell, Earl Falconer, Norman Hassan, Brian Travers, Duncan Campbell, Ali Campbell, Mickey Virtue, Astro, Laurence Parry, Martin Meredith and Tony Mullings. Some members of the group are dead, while some have left the band. It is possibly a rag-tag team or probably a hurriedly selected team that is expected in Lagos.
