The Lagos State Government says the monthly environmental sanitation exercise will hold on Saturday, January 25, 2014.

Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello who made the announcement said there will be the usual restriction of human and vehicular movement from 7:00am-10am.

He called on residents of the state to come out in large numbers and clean their surroundings. He explained that so much waste has been generated within the past few months particularly during the holidays.

Bello warned residents who still patronize cart pushers to desist adding that it is an offense in the State to patronize them. He called on members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and other unions to comply with the restriction of vehicular movement adding that violators as well as passengers will be prosecuted in line with sanitation laws.
