The records were not impressive at all judging by the figures at the Box Office during the week despite the holidays. But it was not too bad compared with what was recorded the previous week. Nevertheless, American Hustle was No. 5 at the box office.
A production of Sony Pictures, American Hustle made the sum of $13.2 million after passing through 2, 518 cinemas in the US to make it to number 5 on the Hollywood box office chart.
At number 4 is the Wolf of Wall Street. Put together for distribution by Paramount Pictures, the film made $13.4 million after featuring in 2,557 theatres in the US to make it to that spot on the table.
The Hobit: The Desolation of Smaug is number 3. Distributed by Warner Brothers, the film which has made number 1 in the last three weeks recovered the sum of $16,250,000 at the US box office after going round 3,730 cinemas in the US to get to that spot on the table.
At number 2 is the film Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. Marketed by Paramount Pictures, the film made $18.2 million after passing through 2,867 theatres to make it to number 2 on the box office chart. And then the film that got attention of most of the film viewing public during the week was Frozen. Put together for distribution by Buena Vista, the film raised the sum of $20,722,000 at the US box office after having a nice outing in 3,318 theatres in the US to hit the first spot on the box office chart.
It will interest you to know that the film was produced with the sum of $130 million yet it has grossed a total sum of $297, 838, 000 in just seven weeks at the US box office.
