Osinachi My love is centred on an awkward tradition of Ozemede oracle in Okwele Kingdom who has assumed powers of choosing his wife among village maidens.
Following the death of wife of the Oracle, Osinachi, who is the only daughter of Nwoke is picked to be the next wife of the oracle. Nwoke is persuaded by Anene his brother to accept the offer since that would mean blessing for the family while acting otherwise could spell doom. But in a dream, Anene encountered the former wife of the oracle who was tied up in a forest where the priests of Ozemede are using her to gratify themselves.
He decides to confront the King and inquire about the identity of those who sleep with maidens chosen as wife of the oracle.
Anene is dissatisfied with the answer and opts to work against the wish of the oracle.
How far can he go in this fight? This is left for you to find out in the film, Osinachi My Love. Also of interest is the subplot featuring, Ndubuisi who is seeking the hand of Osinachi in marriage yet he is obsessed with having affairs with maidens in Umoaku village.
Rated 18 by the National Film and Video Censors Board, Osinachi My Love comes with good storyline, picture and audio quality. Directed by Ugezu Ugezu, Osinachi My Love is an attempt to illustrate the lifestyle of young men in the city who have formed the habit of deceiving unsuspecting women into having an affair with them but would look elsewhere when it comes to marriage. Are there lessons to take home from the film? Alot of them; one of which is the need for young women to preserve themselves until marriage so as not to become easy prey to men. Francis Duru played Ndubuisi while Tonto Dike played Osinachi.
