The elegant stallion, Onyeka Owenu at the weekend denounced the culture of nudity that has crept into Nigerian music, stressing that it is a culture that does not speak well of Nigeria as a nation.

Onyeka who spoke at the public presentation of “All of a Sudden”, the last album Christy Essien Igbokwe waxed before her demise and rebranding of her foundation from ‘Essential Child Care Foundation’ to ‘Christy Essien Igbokwe Foundation’ noted that Nigerians should make no mistake about the fact that she and the late Christy Essien Igbokwe were in serious competition.

“We were in competition and it brought out the best in us”, the Director General National Centre for Women Development said at the event. She said they were so closed that when Christy Essien had her first son, he told the mother that she would marry him, adding that when she had the second boy, he was so cute that she again jokingly told the late Essien, that she would have no choice but to marry the two boys.

She said they were in competition yet the best of friends.

She called on Nigerians to identify with the foundation stressing that the Nigeria will be lost unless there is deliberate effort to care for the future. She said that spirit of the late Christy Essien Igbokwe will continue to inspire Nigerians.
