The Nigeria Police on Wednesday deployed 400 officers to the United Nations mission in Liberia and the African Union-United Nations’ Hybrid operation in Dafur as part of Nigeria’s commitment to global and regional peace and security.

“Similar contingents are currently on international peacekeeping assignments in Cote D’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan,’’ the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar said at the pre-deployment and competence demonstration exercise in Abuja.

He assured the contingents that adequate provision has been made for their welfare, material and logistics support.
