The Lagos State Governor Office Correspondents (LAGOCO)were so menacing Tuesday evening when they took on the Lagos State House of Assembly Correspondents Association(LAHACA) better known as Ikuforiji Boys in a football encounter at the Agidingbi Grammar School, Lagos crushing them with a very wide goal margin of 2-1.
All the goals were scored in the first half of the 60 minutes encounter. LAGOCO took the lead in the first few minutes through their foreign based striker, Taiwo Olapada, who was brought home for the purpose of teaching the Ikuforiji boys the lesson of their life. Yusuf followed with another strike later, bringing the score line to 2-0.
An opportunity however came the way of the Ikuforiji boys when they reduced the score line, through one of their strikers, Pelumi. They had a second opportunity through a penalty kick to level the score line but the shot hit the crossbar.
The Ikuforiji Boys tried all they could to equalize but the LAGOCO team was just too tough a nut for them to crack. They left dejected at the end of the 60 minutes encounter. Ekene Okoro, the man who held the goal line for LAGOCO was like the wall of Gibraltar, warding-off all the dangerous arsenals from the opponents. LAHACA looks forward to revenge the defeat during their press week.
The football match was put together as part of the LAGOCO Press week. Earlier in the day, there was medical check up for members and a health talk by a group of nutritionist.
