Chairman Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has warned members of the party to moderate their comments with elements of civility in line with party guidelines.
Tukur who spoke in Abuja was alarmed that the media was in recent times filled with accusations and counter accusation by party members adding that in as much as the party respects the rights of individuals, party members have a duty to moderate their comments in line with the constitution and party guidelines.
“As much as we as a party respect the constitutional rights of individuals to public opinion, movement and associations, such exercise should be done with some elements of civility and in keeping with the norms of the society, the party’s constitution and guidelines”, he said.
While welcoming the newly registered All Progressive Congress (APC) the chairman said his party, requires neither merger nor coalition with any political party to face opposition in the 2015 general elections and implement its economic blueprint for Nigeria.
He vowed to lead the party to greater height, stressing that PDP will ensure that it recaptures states taken away from it by the opposition and recapture mores states in the coming elections.
He called on aggrieved members of the party to explore internal mechanism put in place by the party through the reconciliation committee. He noted that the national working committee has set up guidelines for Anambra state Governorship election, stressing that the party has a mandate to put in place an administration that will deliver abundant dividends of democracy to the people of Anambra state.
