Gymnastic Association in Lagos State has begun the search for Olympic champions through the inter-club competition coming up from Friday 23rd to Saturday 24th of August, 2013 at the indoor hall of Lagos State Sports Council, Rowe Park, Yaba.

Eight clubs have so far registered for the 5 events namely; vault, floor, parallel, beam and pummel horse. The state government hopes to use the competition to scout for talents that will represent Lagos State at the National Youth Games coming up in Abuja in December this year and perhaps the Olympics.

The state of the art gymnastic sports equipment purchase by the Lagos State Government for Lagos State Gymnastic Association will also be launched by the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Waid Enitan Oshodi during the competition. The sports equipment to be launched are; a set of floor mats, vaulting horse, set of high bar, set of rings, set of balanced beam, set of pummel horse, set of uneven bar and  one chalk bowl.

Others are, four pieces spring boards, one small trampoline, set of parallel bar, two packets of magnesium powder and foam learning beam. The equipment were produced by the popular gymnastic equipment were procured from Gymnova the producer of Olympic size equipment.
