The Lagos State Government today released photographs of the deplorable condition of Ijora and its environment before it moved in to demolish the settlement.
The state government made it clear that it hopes to build 1008 Housing Estate in area to accommodate residents who were evicted as a result of recent demolition of shanties in the area. The photographs are just two of the four released by the Lagos State Government to the press.
Part of the statement accompanying the pictures reads, “ Badia East illegal refuse dump settlement before the intervention of the Lagos State Government to regenerate the area and develop a 1008 Housing Units which would
also accommodate residents of the area”, the state government said.
