ELYSIUM TOPS BOX OFFICE WITH $30.5 MILLION

There was a slight increase in the amount of money made by the highest selling film at the Box Office this week compared with the figures churned out last week. Coming at number five this week is the film 2Guns.

Distributed by Universal Pictures, 2Guns made 11.12 million Dollars after featuring in 3,028 theatres worldwide to make it to the number 5 position.

At number 4 is the film Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Distributed by Fox Pictures, that film made 14.6 million Dollars after putting up an average showing in 3,031 cinemas worldwide to get to that spot.  Planes is the number 3 box office hit at the weekend. Distributed by Walt Disney, the film made 22.525 million Dollars after putting up an impressive showing in 3,702 theatres around the globe to hit that position. At number 2 is the film, We’re the Millers. That film watered the hands of Warner Bros,  with a total sum of 26.55 million Dollars after delighting viewers in 3, 260 cinemas worldwide to get to that position.

And then, the film that made the highest sales at the box office at the weekend is Elysium. Packaged for distribution by Sony Pictures, Elysium raked in 30.5 million Dollars after featuring in 3,284 cinemas worldwide to hit the number one position at the box office.
