The People Democratic Party(PDP) has condemned in strong terms a statement issued by the   Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN) seeking to drag the name of President Goodluck Jonathan into the shameful fracas between lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

A statement signed by Ag. Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Tony Okeke described the call for the impeachment of the President by ACN as malicious and the height of political irresponsibility, stressing that the ACN is by that statement seeking to aggravate the issue.

The party noted that ACN was merely seeking to distort facts, describing the situation as appalling.

“President Goodluck Jonathan has continued to display commitment, candour and sincerely in handling national issues. It is therefore a sign of frustration, desperation and defeat for the opposition to call for the impeachment of the President on account of the issue in Rivers State”, the statement said calling on parties involved in fracas to exercise restraint and maintain decorum.
