ANAMBRA GUBER RACE: PDP OUTLINES DISCIPLINARY MEASURES

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ordered all members with pending cases in the court to withdraw them or be sanctioned. Similarly, the party has resolved that all members of the party shall not engage in anti-party activities in the quest to deliver the governorship candidate of the party as winner in the November governorship election.

PDP made this position known in a statement signed by Ag. Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Tony Okeke as the outcome of the party’s national working ‘s meeting as part of preparation for the November 16 governorship election in Anambra State.

  According to him the party will ensure that a level playing ground is provided for all candidates in the primaries in the spirit of equity, fairness and transparency but that no candidate shall proceed to court to challenge the outcome of the primaries adding that all candidate must work with the candidate that emerge during the primaries and allow the party exhaust all mechanism enshrined in the party constitution for resolving internal crisis.

“That all those who have cases in court shall withdraw such cases, failing which the party will take disciplinary measures against them. No member of the party in Anambra State will institute any suit on any matter affecting the conduct of the forth coming congresses and primary election for the November governorship election without allowing the party exhausts all internal processes as outlined in the party’s constitution for resolving internal conflict”, the party said in the statement.
