A large explosion rocked Maiduguri, capital of Borno State on Tuesday, leaving at least 15 people dead.
Sources say the bomb rocked one of the busiest roundabout in the capital at about 7:50AM.
We gathered that most of those affected were old women who were selling peanuts and kola nuts in the area. Our sources say human parts were scattered all over the vicinity leaving many in palpable fear.
Some of those injured are said to have been rushed to various hospitals in the state capital for medical attention.
The Ministry of Defence however confirmed the incident in a tweet, noting that an “improvised explosive device” went off in “a van loaded with charcoal” and that the area had been cordoned off’,
We gathered that unruly crowd however impeded rescue operation by security forces and men of the fire services.
