October 12, 2015 – Properties worth several millions were this morning razed when fire gutted old premises of Newswatch Magazine situated at Billings Way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.

At least one person was burnt in the incident. According to Director of Fire, Lagos, Engineer Rasaq Fadipe, the only person that was burnt in the fire incident was a male worker. He said his men were mobilized to the scene to tame the fire.

He said the fire affected the canteen where staff of the organisation regular had their meals.

We gathered that Newswatch magazine is no longer on the premises. ” It currently operates from Broad Street, Lagos since it was bought over by businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim”, an inside source told our reporter.

We gathered that most of the staff in the old premises are security personnel and cleaners. However, the cause of the fire was yet to be determined by the time this report was filed.
