GAZA – It appears ground invasion of Rafah is now imminent following insistence by Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu that he will launch a ground invasion whether or not there is a ceasefire even as negotiation appears to have stalled in Qatar.

This is coming following statements issued by the various factions of Hamas, affirming their demands, “ a complete halt to the aggression and withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip.

“The front explained that there is complete, continuous and constant coordination between all resistance factions and there is consensus on the resistance’s demand and there will be no progress in the negotiations unless the occupation acquiesce to these just demands and the ball is now in the court of the occupation, which is still evasive and stubborn and does not want to respond to these demands, particularly … Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for narrow political calculations”, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said in a statement on the negotiation.

The group said the resistance factions are ready to deal with all options and any developments on the ground and to continue defending “our people and to confront any zionist aggression, especially against the city of Rafah”, the statement said.

It added that the head of Hamas in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar has been communication with the political leadership of the factions abroad and has been in touch with the resistance leadership to manage the negotiation.
