YEMEN – The Armed Forces of Yemen has announced the downing of an American surveillance drone in Yemen.

“The air defense forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces shot down an American aircraft type (MQ_9) while it was carrying out hostile acts in the airspace of Saada Governorate, using a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile”, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced.

    According to them,
them the aircraft is the seventh of its type that was shot down during the battle of the promised victory and the holy jihad in support of Gaza.

“As part of  fourth round of escalation related to the naval operations area, the naval and missile forces of  Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a joint military operation targeting the ship (Groton) in the Gulf of Aden with a number of ballistic missiles, and the hit was accurate”, the group said.

The Yemeni said the ship was targeted owing to violation of ban decision of access to the ports of occupied Palestine by the company that owns the ship.

The Yemeni Armed Forces said it salutes the valiant Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip for 300 days of steadfastness, heroism and sacrifice in defense of the nation, its pride and dignity, and in triumphing for its sanctities.

The statement added that the Yemeni Armed Forces will continue to carry out its military operations in various stages of escalation, and that these operations will not stop until the aggression stops and the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted.
