LAGOS, Nigeria– A woman, Mariam Eberechukwu- 20, was today arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting Ikeja for allegedly stealing one set of gold jewelry valued N50,000.00, two pairs of ear rings valued N93,000.00, a set of nine carat gold jewelry valued N500,000.00.




She was also alleged to have stolen a set of gold chain with gold bracelet valued N165,000.00, a set of two carat gold chain valued N150,000.00 and cash sum of N200,000.00, total value N1,183,000.00 property of one, Mr. Sola Arobieke.

She was arraigned on two count charge of conspiracy and stealing before (Mrs) B.O Osunsanmi. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The defendant who was charged before the court was said to have committed the offence on August 4, 2017 at No. 1 Victoria Arobieke Street, lekki Phase 1 Lagos.

The prosecutor, inspector, Simon Imhonwa, told the court that the alleged offences are purnishable under section 287 (5)(f) and section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, granted her bail of N200,000 in like sum with two sureties working in a reputable organization with proof of payment of taxes. She adjourned the case to December 20, 2017.
