WIKKI TOURISTS 1
(Ibrahim 42’)
KANO PILLARS 0
IT WAS a Bauchi bash-up as Wikki Tourists proved they are no holiday-makers, grounding the mighty Kano Pillars in a 1-0 scrap that had the home fans bouncing.
In a game where the “Pillars” of Kano’s defence looked more like sticks of Blackpool rock, the Tourists took full advantage, proving they have the stomach for a fight at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.
The breakthrough came just before the tea break. IBRAHIM SANI—the man they call the ‘Bauchi Bullet’—showed why he’s the name on everyone’s lips.
He latched onto a loose ball like a Londoner on a cut-price pint, ghosting past the static Pillars backline to fire home the winner.
STAR MAN: IBRAHIM SANI (Wikki Tourists)
The match-winner was a constant thorn in the side of the visitors. Sani didn’t just score the goal; he ran the Pillars’ defence ragged,
showing the kind of pace that would make a Tube driver blush. Every time he touched the ball, you could hear the Kano fans’ hearts sink.
Utum (GK) 7: A safe pair of hands. Handled the Kano pressure like a pro.
Klinshak 8: A rock at the back. Blocked everything but the kitchen sink.
Sani 9: SUN STAR MAN. The difference maker. Quality finish.
Auwalu 7: Controlled the engine room.
Okeke (GK) 6: Could do nothing about the goal.
Rabiu Ali 7: The veteran showed flashes of brilliance, but even “Pele” couldn’t save them today.
Mustapha 5: Lost his man for the goal. A day to forget.
Kano Pillars arrived looking for a result to cement their status, but they left feeling like they’d been pickpocketed in broad daylight.
Wikki were sharper, hungrier, and simply more “Wikki-ed.”
For the Pillars, it’s back to the drawing board. For the Tourists, the party in Bauchi is only just beginning!
