ABUJA, Nigeria – Hajiya Hadiza Shehu Shagari, the wife of former President of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari is dead. She was 80 years old.
In a statement announcing her demise, Sarkin Mafaran Shagari, Muhammad Bala Shagari said she died in the early hours of today at about 3am, Thursday, August 12, 2021 after battling with Coronavirus at the Gwagwalada Isolation Centre in Abuja.
He said her funeral rites will take place today at 4pm immediately after prayers at the National Mosque in Abuja.
