ONITSHA, Anambra – The immediate past President General of Uturu Development Association UDA Mr. Uche Akaeme has declared his intention to represent Isiukwuato Local at the Abia State House of Assembly from 2023.
He declared his interest to contest the position under the platform of People Democratic Party PDP. Mr. Akaeme who made the declaration at his country home Nnezu ,Ward 9 of Isiukwuato local government area of the state said he was coming out to give quality representation to his people .
According to him, in the last four years the local government has had a very poor representation hence his coming out as a better and capable person to take over.
“I am going there to represent my people and I want my people to be at the forefront for this declaration. I want to contest for the State House of Assembly because I have all it takes to be there and represent effectively. I am promising you quality representation if finally elected .
“I want you to support me for this project , it is Uturu time to go and Isiukwuato people have agreed that it is time for Uturu person and I am offering myself to you for effective and quality representation. Always count on me for quality ” he said. He used the opportunity to inaugurate his working team christened Rescue team .
According to him, the rescue team which has former supervisory councilor in Isiukwuato local government council Hon. Emma Ukwu as chairman is credible, experienced and a grassroots politician.
He said that these are people who want change in the system and they are out to work to entrench changes for the good of everybody .
Responding , the chairman of the rescue team said they are out to rescue the local government from the hands of cabal.
“We are not only talking about party but about Isiukwuato local government. We are going to work for the success of UCHE Akaeme and we will ensure that he emerges the party flag bearers and subsequently the winner. I want you all to go and mobilise support for the party and Uche Akaeme ” he said
Also speaking at the deceleration chairman of PDP Ward 9 Hon. Monday Uwaezuoke said that they are confident of Uche Akaeme winning the election. He said that the people of ward 9 will always give support to Mr. Akaeme and PDP all times.
Uwaezuoke also used the opportunity to call on people to go out and obtain their permanent voters card PVC for the upcoming election. According to him, Isiukwuato Abia belongs to PDP and nothing will take it away from the party .
