Nigeria’s military says it has located where the more than 200 girls abducted by Boko Haram are kept but has ruled out using force to rescue them.
Chief of Defence Staff Air Marshal Alex Badeh told the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday.

“The good news for the parents of the girls is that we know where they are, but we cannot tell you. But where they are held, can we go there with force? We can’t kill our girls in the name of trying to get them back,” Bade said.

President Goodluck Jonathan had ruled out the possibility of negotiating with members of the sect who had said they would released the girls in swap with their members in the custody of the Nigerian government.

The president also described members of the sect as animals adding that the girls must be released unconditionally.
