MOSCOW – A top Russian diplomat has dropped a stunning bombshell, claiming that NATO and the European Union are actively preparing for a “BIG WAR” with Moscow.
Denis Gonchar, Russia’s Ambassador to Belgium, where NATO’s headquarters sits, issued the chilling warning, accusing Western powers of deliberately misleading their own people to justify military action.
In a dramatic statement, the Ambassador said the West’s increased defence spending and military drills were not about deterrence, but about priming their populations for a massive conflict.
“NATO and EU are preparing for a ‘BIG WAR’ with Russia,” Gonchar declared.
He then accused Brussels and allied capitals of a massive scaremongering plot. Gonchar insisted their actions were being “justified with ‘non-existent Kremlin plans to attack’,” adding that they were “intimidating their own population.”
The Ambassador’s explosive comments follow months of escalating rhetoric and high-stakes military manoeuvres on both sides.
NATO has continuously stated its military build-up, including major troop deployments and exercises, is purely defensive and a direct response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
However, the Kremlin has long viewed the Alliance’s eastward expansion as an aggressive act.
Gonchar’s claim doubles down on this stance, suggesting that the West is intentionally fabricating fears of a Russian attack to mask its own aggressive intentions and prepare its citizens for an inevitable, wider war on the continent.
