LAGOS, Nigeria – Proponent of Waka music, Queen Salawa Abeni has travelled out of Nigeria. She travelled out this time not for music which has brought her into public reckoning.
According to musician, the destination this time is Canada. She is jetting out to take care of her child who has just delivered.
The Waka musician who shared the story on the social media said she is leaving this time for Omugwo duties. “Off to Canada for Omugwo duties”, she wrote.
Born May 5, 1961, Queen Salawa Abeni released her first album titled Late General Murtala Ramat Muhammed in 1976 under Leader Records.
She was married to Alhaji Lateef Adepoju and later Kollington Ayinla. She is a mother of two children. Big Sheff and Aminat Okikiola Ilori.
