WASHINGTON/KYIV – The war in Ukraine has hit a terrifying new turning point after bombshell reports claimed the United States delivered a stark ultimatum to President Volodymyr Zelensky: Accept a proposed peace deal or lose ALL American military and intelligence support.
The extraordinary development, reported by ABC News, suggests the White House is growing impatient and is now using its massive aid package—the lifeblood of Ukraine’s defence—as a lever to force Kyiv to the negotiating table.
A desperate Ukrainian official reportedly confirmed the severity of the threat, stating the cuts would include vital air defence missiles, crucial intelligence sharing, and every single commitment of weapons and support.
This is the equivalent of pulling the plug on a critical patient, leaving Ukraine exposed to Russia’s brutal bombardment.
President Zelensky, already under immense pressure, did not deny the existence of the crisis, admitting the situation has reached a “critical moment” and that his government is under “a LOT of political pressure” from the US over the peace plan.
In a defiant, but measured, public statement, the former comedian-turned-war-leader insisted he would not yield to terms that weaken his nation.
“We will continue to seek compromises with the US, which will strengthen us, but not weaken,” Zelensky stated, hinting at tense, high-stakes negotiations currently underway behind closed doors.
The reports immediately raise questions over Zelensky’s handling of the crisis and the cost of his resistance to the proposed deal.
Insiders are asking: Is the President trying to prolong the conflict in the hope of better terms, or does he genuinely “not realise that it will be worse soon” if the American aid lifeline is severed?
For the millions of Ukrainians dependent on Western weapons to survive the war, the prospect of the mighty US stopping the flow of Patriot missiles and battlefield intel is a nightmare scenario.
Sources suggest Washington’s patience is wearing thin, concerned that the conflict is becoming an endless, costly quagmire.
The clock is ticking for Zelensky to find a “compromise” that satisfies his American backers without ceding too much ground to Vladimir Putin.
