September 12, 2015 – Death toll in the incident involving collapse of the construction crane on Grand Mosque in Mecca has hit 107. The crane collapsed on Friday when most Muslims were having their prayers.
Reports say not less than 230 are injured and have been rushed to the various hospital for medical attention.
The disaster took place at a time that many pilgrims world over have already arrived Mecca for the annual ritual with hundreds still planning to travel to Mecca for the pilgrimage.
Images posted on the social media users showed showed a horrible scene with many lying in a pool of blood with many seen trying to force their way out of the scene.
So far, a government official has appologised to affected families on behalf of the Saudi Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
