ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – The spiritual director of Igbo Nation, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka (OGILISI IGBO) has traced unrest In the south eastern zone to keeping of death bodies in mortuary , instead of burying them.
According to Ezeonwuka in a statement on Monday said , keeping corpses in mortuaries are unnatural and unigbo.
Ezeonwuka who is the chairman of Ronenny game village in Oba, said souls trapped in such inhuman and wicked practices are causing crises and havocs to the living who are meting such wickedness to them. He said that as the Ogilisigbo and spiritual leader of Igbo land, seeing and saying the truth is in his nature.
He called on all igbo men and women to join forces with him to abolish mortuaries in Igboland so that the departed spirits could rest in peace by giving them timely burial.
According to him, the present burial culture in Igboland is also working against the industrial development of the region. He said industrial nations like Japan, China, America, Germany and others have lighter and far better attitudes to death and burial.
