August 27, 2014 – Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has attributed the level of peace and development recorded in the state to the handiwork of God.

Speaking at the 2014 edition of Praise and Worship night christened, “Delta Yadah” which was part of events earmarked for the 23rd anniversary of the creation of Delta State, Uduaghan challenged Deltans to always pray for peace and development to be sustained in the state.

According to him, “we have been able to achieve peace, development and other great feats in this state not because of our power or might but because of the finger of God. Delta State will be a reference point in Nigeria because the light of God in the state has made it the light of the nation.”

“We have had a lot of challenges in this state but God has been on our side, God is doing mighty things in our state and will continue to do greater things for us as we celebrate 23 years of the state creation,” the governor said.

According to him, when God is on your side, even your enemies will acknowledge the power of God at work in you. “That is what is happening in Delta State.”

He emphasized that God has turned Delta State from a state of crises to a peaceful one where all live in harmony. It is the finger of God at work, He has given us lasting peace that no man can take away from this state again.”

Uduaghan called for prayers from Deltans, noting that whoever will succeed him in 2015 will continue to encourage the state to honour and worship God collectively as well as sustain the annual Praise and Worship night.

The Midnight Crew, Lionnel Paterson, Ron Kennoly, Nathaniel Baseey, among others thrilled Deltans with soul lifting gospel songs.
