WASHINGTON – The United States of America has said that it will hold North Korea responsible for what it described as unjust imprisonment and death of one of its citizens Otto Wambier.




Otto Wambier died in U.S hospital shortly after arriving U.S from North Korea where he has been in detention.

In a statement, Secretary of State, Rex W. Tillerson said the U.S we received with deep sadness the news that Otto Wambier has passed away.

” I extend my condolences to the Wambier family, and offer my prayers as they enter a time of grief no parent should ever know”, he said in the statement.

“Today we received with deep sadness the news that Otto Wambier has passed away. On behalf of the entire State Department and the United States government, I extend my condolences to the Wambier family, and offer my prayers as they enter a time of grief no parent should ever know.

“We hold North Korea accountable for Otto Wambier’s unjust imprisonment, and demand the release of three other Americans who have been illegally detained”, he said.
