Twitter shuts office as employees quit in droves

LAGOS, Nigeria – Twitter, one of the social media with the largest following has temporarily shut its office in the United States following the decision of thousands of workers to quit.

Twitter Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk said the office will remain shut until Monday.

Twitter has been undergoing serious upheavals since the $44 billion takeover by Elon Musk.  Upon resumption, Elon Musk fired top executives of the firm.

He followed up by sacking over 3,000 workers in his quest to take Twitter to profit making.

Elon Musk reported gave workers deadline to work in hardcore environment or leave, a development which has forced hundreds of workers to quit in protest.

Some of the staff are said to have instituted suits against Elon Musk for terminating their employment.

Elon Musk is demanding more hours  of work  but he is yet to disclose the reason for shutting down Twitter office even as he acknowledge that Twitter has seen a dramatic increase in usage.

Since takeover of the company, Elon Musk had insisted that he will charge $8 dollars per month for verified accounts.

Although Twitter is currently agog with many wishing it goodbye. Elon Musk said there is a chance to keep Twitter alive.

“Don’t wanna jinx it, but there’s a chance we can keep Twitter alive”, he said.
