LAGOS, Nigeria – Mr Olumide Braithwaite, the son of the late popular legal practitioner, Dr. Tunji Braithwaite has called on Nigerians to begin to honour their heroes and heroines while they are still alive than to wait till they are no more to shower them with accolades. Mr Braithwaite made the call while receiving a posthumous award on behalf of his father at the 25th Anniversary of Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria, IPAN, in Lagos.
“It is only fit and proper that heroes be honoured during their lifetime where possible. However the enduring legacies those heros and heroines leave behind usually ensures that such awards and accolades are well recieved.”
The institute had conferred its highest professional honour on late Dr Braithwaite and Prof Olikoye Ransome-Kuti due to their immense contributions to healthcare services and promulgation of the law that established the organisation.
The event with the theme, “Advancing Analytical Laboratory Practice in Nigeria: Viable Business and Financing Options”, had in attendance Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, as the Chief Host, and the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmni Ambode as the special guest of honour, while the former Vice President, African Development Bank, Bisi Ogunjobi delivered the Keynote address along side other speakers.
