August 27, 2014 – President Precision Electrical and Related Equipment Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PERESSA), Comrade Joseph Rotimi is dead. He died on Sunday August 24, 2014.
In a statement announcing his death, Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Musa Lawal said Rotimi spent his life in the service of humanity and the labour movement.
He described him as a trade unionist per excellence and committed comrade in the struggle for the emancipation of workers all over the world.
He said that Rotimi passed on to eternal glory on Sunday 24th of August, 2014 after a brief illness.
“Until his death he was a member of the National Administrative Council (NAC) of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) and the National President of Precision, Electrical and Related Equipment Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PERESSA) the bulk of whose membership are workers in telecom and wire-producing companies”, he said.
He said burial arrangements of the comrade will be announced after due consultation with his family.
