United States – Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka who reportedly threatened to tear his green card if the Republican Candidate, Donald J Trump wins the Presidential election in the US has said he will carry out the threat January 20, 2017 when the President- elect will be sworn in.

The Nigerian Professor of Literature, who lectures in the US told Interview magazine that the possibility of Trump winning the election was very clear before the poll.




He said the election of Donald Trump has brought the world closer to its precipice going by Trump’s utterance during the campaign.

He said he refused to switch on his television in the morning and that he felt disaster in his marrow with the Trump victory.

He said Trump has already erected walls not only across American mental landscape but also on global landscape.
