LAGOS – Nigeria is reeling after a wave of brutal terror attacks saw at least 24 schoolgirls snatched, a high-ranking Army General executed, and a Catholic priest kidnapped, leading a furious Archbishop to slam the government for “appearing powerless.”

The Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins, the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, has issued a desperate cry for action after a sickening week of violence that has plunged the nation back into the shadow of the infamous 2014 Chibok abductions.

The chilling new crisis hit its peak when heavily armed militants scaled the fence of the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, on Monday.

In a terrifying pre-dawn raid, they exchanged fire with police before seizing 25 innocent schoolgirls, aged between 12 and 17, from their dormitories and dragging them into the forest.

The school’s Vice Principal and Chief Security Officer, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, was ruthlessly shot dead as the assailants broke into his residence.

While one brave student has since escaped, 24 remain missing, echoing the nation’s darkest trauma.

’Satan’s Scum!’
Archbishop Martins was spitting fire over the escalating chaos, declaring the attacks show the “brazen audacity” of terrorists trying to “throw this nation into chaos.”

He pointed to a horrifying list of recent outrages:
Another school attack on Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, where more students were snatched.

The kidnapping of Catholic priest Father Bobbo Paschal in Kaduna State, during which Gideon Markus, the brother of another local priest, was brutally killed for trying to intervene.

The execution of a serving Army General, Muhammad Uba, proving “how secure the average citizens of this country are.

A gruesome attack on church worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State.
Trump Threat Sparked Chaos

In a stunning claim, the Archbishop suggested the spike in violence may be linked to a recent, unnamed “threat made by President Donald Trump,” suggesting “some elements” are deliberately trying to destabilise the country.
He thundered: “If the terrorists can kill a whole serving army general in such a brazen manner, I wonder how secure the average citizens of this country are?

The Archbishop acknowledged assurances from the military but questioned why they “continue to appear powerless” in the face of the incessant attacks.

He has now issued a direct challenge to the Tinubu-led government: “bring home all those who are in the hands of these brazen terrorists.”

He warned the clock is ticking for the authorities to regain the confidence of their terrified citizens.
