WASHINGTON – The US has dramatically escalated its war on political violence, officially designating four European Antifa groups as global terrorists in a shock move announced yesterday.

Building on President Trump’s pledge to confront the network, the Department of State has slapped the dreaded Specially Designated Global Terrorist tag on German-based Antifa Ost, alongside three other violent Antifa outfits operating in Italy and Greece.

The bombshell declaration means the US Government is now treating these self-proclaimed “anti-fascist” networks the same way it treats major terror organisations across the world.

The State Department confirmed that all four groups are also set to be designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations effective November 20, 2025.

This massive crackdown is a direct result of President Trump’s National Security Presidential Memorandum-7, an initiative aimed at crushing groups that use “political violence and terroristic acts to undermine democratic institutions, constitutional rights, and fundamental liberties.”
The official statement slammed the groups for their dangerous revolutionary ideologies.

They are accused of subscribing to “revolutionary anarchist or Marxist ideologies, including anti-Americanism, ‘anti-capitalism,’ and anti-Christianity,” which they allegedly use to “incite and justify violent assaults domestically and overseas.”

The decision means the US will use “all available tools” to protect its security and public safety, primarily by denying funding and resources to the designated terror groups.

In a clear warning shot, the statement confirmed that the US will continue “targeting other Antifa groups across the globe” as part of its wider strategy to dismantle the network of political violence.
