WASHINGTON D.C. – The Trump Administration has dropped a bombshell on a top Haitian government official, revoking their US visa for allegedly supporting “terrorist gangs” that are running riot across the Caribbean nation.
The US State Department announced today it is slapping the official with tough visa restrictions, accusing them of providing financial and material support to criminal organizations and obstructing the Haitian government’s fight against the designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
The dramatic move, taken under a policy first announced in October 2022, means the official will be banned from ever entering the United States.
A State Department spokesman confirmed: “This action is taken under INA 212(a)(3)(C), which generally bars entrance to those whose entry or proposed activities have potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequences for the United States.”
Any valid visas currently held by the individual have been instantly revoked.
The policy also targets the family members of those who are found to be backing the violent mobs.
The statement made it crystal clear that the US has lost patience with those destabilising the country.
”The Haitian people have had enough with gang violence, destruction, and political infighting,” the State Department declared.
”The Trump Administration will promote accountability for those who continue to destabilize Haiti and our region.”
The US is still pushing for political stability in the troubled nation, adding that it “remains committed to supporting Haiti’s stability and expects measurable progress toward free and fair elections.”
